The 23 Hour Observation Program is designed for substance abuse emergencies and crisis situations for up to 23 hours. The program provides extended and extensive evaluation prior to entering detox, as well as crisis stabilization for covered persons needing an intermediate level of care. Treatment interventions, under the supervision of a physician, are focused on mobilizing support and resources so that the covered person can be managed in the least restrictive setting. A medical history and physical is conducted on all admissions. Continued assessment by the skilled nursing staff determines the appropriated level of transition..
